Bruce E. G. Smith
Principal, Achieving Sales ResultsBruce Smith has been part of Achieving Sales Results since 2003 and was most recently the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Paradigm Solutions leading their commercial sales and marketing programs. Paradigm is a $65 million software and IT solutions company based in Rockville, Maryland. At Paradigm, Mr. Smith was responsible for sales strategy, the building of an effective sales force and closing new business. Bruce has more than 35 years of domestic and international sales and sales management experience in the IT environment. He has held previous executive positions with PSI Net, iGate Corporation, Westinghouse Communications and BT North America, Inc.
Having spent several years with IBM Sales in Philadelphia, Bruce joined Tymshare, Inc. in Detroit in 1979 which later became part of BT North America. He held various sales and sales management positions, including National Sales Manager for a Data Base Management software tool, Eastern Region Manager for Private Network Sales, Central Regional Manager and Director of Business Development for Latin America. In 1993, he was recruited to become Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Westinghouse Communications. He later joined Vanstar and Inacom in the infrastructure services business as Director of Business Development in International and the Compaq Alliance Director.
In 2000, Bruce was the Northeastern Regional Vice President of Sales for Metamor, responsible for SAP and Oracle implementation sales and before coming to Paradigm, he was Director of Sales for an offshore consulting services company, iGATE, headquartered in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Smith has a wealth of knowledge in major account management, having managed and grown accounts like Chase Bank, Morgan Bank, Digital Equipment Corporation, DuPont, Motorola, Ford, General Motors, Independence Blue Cross, Mass Mutual and Nokia. He has managed sales teams from 2 to 55 sales people and has achieved revenue goals 18 of 20 eligible years.
Bruce is a graduate of Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania and resides in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
